SBA Disaster Loan Awareness Center Moves to New Location

The Small Business Administration is moving one of its disaster loan awareness centers in Bucks County to a new location starting Wednesday.

Starting at 9:00 a.m., SBA representatives will be stationed at the Levittown Library at 7311 New Falls Road in Bristol Township. It sits directly across from its original location at the Lower Bucks Government Service Center.

The change in location was necessitated by a need for more space, SBA spokeswoman Cecilia Flike-Jacobson said.

Drone footage captured flash floods in West Bristol along Snowden Avenue on July 12, 2021.

The SBA on Monday opened two offices in Bucks County for those affected by the July 12 storm as well as in Philadelphia, Montgomery, Lehigh and Northampton counties.

At this time, apps are not available for those affected by the tornadoes that hit Bucks County last Thursday. This would have to be approved as part of a separate declaration as it had nothing to do with the flooding.

The SBA provides disaster assistance to homeowners and tenants, as well as businesses and nonprofits, in the form of low-interest loans to help with repairs or replacement of property, including including vehicles.

The interest rates on loans vary depending on whether the person or organization can obtain credit elsewhere. According to the SBA fact sheet, a person who cannot get another loan will have to pay 1.625% for a home loan, 2.88% for a business loan, or 2% for a nonprofit loan. If the applicant can get credit elsewhere, the rates are 3.25% for a home loan, 5.76% for a business loan, and 2% for a nonprofit. The loans can have repayment terms of up to 30 years.
