The final NFL roster removal deadline is almost a week away and will be at 4 p.m. ET on August 31. At this point, the Eagles and 31 other NFL teams should not have more than 53 players on their active rosters.
Currently, teams are allowed to carry up to 90 players.
In 2021, the NFL will see teams remove five players from their squad twice before the final cup at 53. After Week 1 of the preseason, Philadelphia reduced its squad to 85.
The Eagles begin joint practices with the Jets on Tuesday and they will need to eliminate four more players to bring their tally to 80 after Jason Croom was placed in the injured reserve at the end of the season.
